Oil and Water: You and I

We are oil and water

We are ashes and air

Lives in juxtapositions

Living in all forms of ironies

But trying to collide

Here and now

Then and there

Always an attempt so futile

Always in an alien domicile

Can we turn around and face,

The could have been and the what ifs?

All the possible transcendence

All the eclipses faced and drowned

Mere mundane everyday of falling

In love

Mere banality every time of ebbing

From love

All the future I can see, now

We were sun and sand

We were moon and tides

But lives of liminality

Pushing to live in forms of coherence

Always falling apart

Then and there

Then and there

Always an attempt so futile

Always in an alien’s domicile
